Nextnation Wins 5-year Mobility Technology Contract with the Human Resource Development Foundation of Indonesia
Jakarta (PRWeb) January 28, 2007 -- Nextnation Communication Berhad ("Nextnation"), through its Indonesian subsidiary, PT. Nextnation Prisma ("Nextnation Prisma"), has joined forces with the Human Resource Development Foundation of Indonesia, also known as Yayasan Kesejahteraan Tenaga Kerja Indonesia ("YKTKI") in a five-year agreement to launch 'Bursa Kerja Indonesia', a new Short Message Service (SMS) alert service for registered job seekers.
Commenting on the service, during the launch yesterday in Indonesia, Mr. Rafli Ridwan, Director of Nextnation Prisma said, "Nextnation Prisma is the first company in Indonesia to embark in such a service and (we) believe that apart from helping job seekers to get the jobs that they want, this project will prove that Nextnation Prisma is technically capable, professional and dedicated to the growth of the mobile industry in Indonesia."
Nextnation Prisma will provide the mobile technology, platform services and applications to empower YKTKI, which is fully supported by the Indonesian Government's Labour Department, in reaching more Indonesians with timely and easily accessible alerts on employment opportunities. YKTKI, in turn, will act as the facilitator for the service, registering companies and job seekers in an information portal as well as via nationwide road shows, advertising and promotional activities.
"For this 'Bursa Kerja Indonesia' service, we have set a modest initial target to capture 2% of the 12 million registered job seekers in Indonesia in the 12 months. As more people see the benefits of having crucial job vacancies delivered to them on demand, we believe we will see even more subscribers to the service," added Rafli.
The President of YKTKI, Bp. Ali Wongso Sinaga said, "This collaboration between Nextnation Prisma and YKTKI is timely as we believe the launch of this service will help ease the burden of the government by making available jobs more visible to the job seekers while also providing more viable job options for them. Employers will also be able to target potential employees by specifying skill sets required for the position, reducing the mismatch of competencies."
Nextnation Prisma began operations in July 2006 with a dedicated project for Indosat's subscribers and is now connected to all mobile operators in Indonesia. Both YKTKI and Nextnation Prisma undertake the advertising and promotional activities for the service. To date, more than 2,100 companies have registered over 7,400 vacancies and the company expects another 100,000 companies to register within the first 12 months following the launch of this SMS alert service. This service is part of a national campaign by the Indonesian authorities to improve employment rates within the country and provide comprehensive yet customized databases of potential workers and employers.
The service 'Bursa Kerja Indonesia' costs Rp1,350 (RM0.55) for registration, while each received SMS will cost Rp1,000 (RM0.80), making the SMS service, both timely and cost effective.
